This time we bring you another Japanese home design. We take you to Shift home, a home designed by Japanese architecture firm Apollo Architects & Associates, located in Tokyo, Japan. This modern Japanese concrete house isn’t just about being minimalist through all the house modern design and interior, but also this house has amazing inner courtyard that is soothing and can be seen from the living room, dining room and kitchen.
The reason that this minimalist building has an inner courtyard is because the family wants to have a space for yoga. The minimalist Japanese house has been built around a central courtyard where the glass walls offer views in all indoor spaces on both floors. It’s a truly pleasing moment as you can see the symbolic tree in the courtyard which plays a central role in sustaining the balance of architecture. Now you can tell already that the inner courtyard has been dominating through the centre of this minimalist structure.
With a hollow center, the modern Japanese residence is easy to navigate. The living room and kitchen and dining room are facing each other across the courtyard, while a sculptural staircase is located in the courtyard of the entrance. Upon the first floor you will be presented with multipurpose room used for yoga classes and other activities, while small gardens wrap around the bedrooms to provide light and openings. Truly one modern Japanese residence with more than just being minimalistic, and this is done with quite amazing influential Zen inner courtyard.
