Sustainable Home Design in Ellis House by Coates Design

Filed Under: Green House Sustainable Home Design in Ellis House by Coates Design

Thanks to the strategic heights, Ellis House enjoys a 180 degree view of the Seattle skyline. This house was designed by Coates Design, located in Bainbridge Island, Washington, USA. The owners of this warm house design wanted a sustainable house and in doing so Coates Design Office has been able to do that by getting this house the first house in the area with certified LEED Platinum.

It’s a tough challenge as the owners of the house wanted to combine sustainability without compromising a modern aesthetic design. And the challenge was answered with a beautifully done and green house that’s able to reduce energy consumption for more than 70% compared to the normal house.

Stunning views of the environment can still be enjoyed inside the house and even from the owner’s bath tub. The design process and construction of the house took three years, but the result is certainly delightful for the inhabitants.
